Build Skills, Build a Portfolio in a Real Studio
Service Description
This class is designed for motivated high school artists who want to build a strong, competitive portfolio for art school applications—or simply take their drawing and painting skills to the next level. Students will work from direct observation in a professional studio environment, developing technical foundations while discovering their own creative voice. Each session focuses on core skills used by leading art programs, including: Observational drawing from still life and the figure Charcoal, graphite, and oil painting techniques Composition, value, and color theory Developing personal subject matter and visual ideas Guidance on portfolio requirements and presentation Students receive individual instruction tailored to their goals—whether preparing for AP portfolios, specialized high school programs, or college admissions such as PAFA, RISD, Pratt, SVA, and other top schools. Emphasis is placed on craftsmanship, critical thinking, and learning how to see like an artist. Classes are small to ensure personalized feedback in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere. No matter your starting level, you’ll leave with stronger skills, greater confidence, and work that truly represents who you are as an artist.

Cancellation Policy
Class Refund & Make-Up Policy All class registrations are non-refundable. Your enrollment reserves a limited seat in a small studio setting, and tuition cannot be returned once a space has been held for you. If you miss a class, you are welcome to make it up by attending another scheduled class, space permitting. Please contact the studio in advance to arrange a make-up date so we can be sure there is room for you. Thank you for understanding—this policy helps keep classes consistent and ensures a supportive experience for all students.
