Figure Drawing – 8 Week Course Intro to Figure Drawing Fridays, April 17 – June 12 No class on May 22 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM This class introduces students to the foundations of drawing the human figure through direct observation. Over eight weeks we will build gradually from quick gesture studies to a sustained long pose, developing the skills needed to see and describe the body with confidence. Students will learn: Gesture drawing and proportion Structural anatomy and landmarks 3-D form and modeling with value Light, shadow, and edge control Composition and expressive mark-making Each session begins with short poses to loosen up and train the eye, followed by progressively longer studies that allow for deeper exploration of form and detail. Individual instruction is provided throughout, with demonstrations and critiques tailored to each student’s level. Students are encouraged to work in pencil, charcoal, or conté, focusing on materials that best support their goals. All levels are welcome—whether you are new to figure drawing or looking to strengthen existing skills. Please note: model fee is not included in tuition and will be collected separately. 8 Weeks • Small Class Size • Professional Studio Setting
